Byrdstown, TN — The momentum behind John Rose’s campaign for Tennessee Governor continues to surge as he scored another decisive victory in a Republican straw poll Saturday. This marks Rose’s third consecutive straw poll victory at county Republican annual dinners across Tennessee.

The Pickett County Republican Party conducted its straw poll during the annual Reagan Dinner on Saturday, September 20. Ticketed attendees were able to cast a vote for their choice in the 2026 Republican Primary for Governor. The poll was conducted by elected officers of the county party.

The results were overwhelming:

In recent weeks, Rose also dominated straw polls in Lawrence County and Lewis County, winning by margins of 25 and 31 points, respectively. 77 votes were cast in the Pickett County poll with 63 for John Rose, 9 for Marsha Blackburn, and 5 for Monty Fritts.

“John Rose’s background as a farmer and as Tennessee’s Commissioner of Agriculture is clearly resonating with voters in rural counties across our state,” said Campaign Chair, Chris Devaney. “Tennesseans know John Rose shares their values, understands their way of life, and has the conservative record to deliver results as Governor.”

Rose’s commanding win in Pickett County, defeating his nearest opponent by more than 70 points, underscores the growing strength of his campaign and grassroots support across Tennessee.

Since launching his campaign for Governor on March 20, John Rose has visited all 95 counties and reported donations from every county in Tennessee. Rose is an eighth-generation Tennessee farmer who has voiced a platform based on what he calls “Tennessee Values”: faith, family, and freedom. He has pledged to safeguard Tennesseans’ constitutional rights and defend the unborn while improving education, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and maintaining a strong economy.

Rose announced his candidacy for Governor on March 20, 2025, at the site of the Tennessee State Fair in Wilson County. His conservative record in Congress, mutual support with President Trump, and deep roots in Tennessee agriculture have helped him gain strong support from voters across the state.
